Another gate runner

4/13, Officer Kirby called to say a small siver SUV ran the gate at abt. 3:30, TX lic GYD-185. I went out to look for it. Then, 15 min. later he called to say another vehicle (black-suv) with the same tags just exited the community. I went to the GH, and stayed for abt. 30 min. to see if it would come back in. 30 minutes after I left the GH, it came back in (abt 4:45). Officer Kirby recognized the passenger, but not the driver. He did not know the passenger by name, just by sight. He was not able to stop the vehicle due to the high volumn of traffic. John W. was called, and left information on voicemail.

I believe James said it was the Zettner home on Fairfiled bend that one of the young ladies lived at.

COP reports

Good morning everyone. I trust you've all been hard at it, making your COP runs this past month. Please email your dates and comments to me this coming week, by Friday, if at all possible. We need to post our report with SAPD.

Speaking of SAPD, the machine used to print the COP name tags has been broken for some time and our COP training/coordinator officer tells me they will probably return it for repairs, so we're a few weeks away from having he name tags for everyone.

Remember, your job is to observe and report. Always, always be careful and do not take unnecessary risks. Should you need to reach me for assistance at any time use me cell number (210-) 392-0223.

Regards,

John Wynn

Gate Runners

3/27 AM, Officer Kirby stated a white, older model Chevy PU, with primer spots, and a bumper sticker "It's a great day to paint"--drove out of the visitor's lane and entered SF through the exit gate. The officer was only able to get the first 3 of the tag: AD1-???

Also, a large dark green PU with black railing behind the cab, TX lic VlZ-717 came through the visitor's gate and ignored the officers request to stop and ID himself or where he was going (other than to say he was going home), and followed another vehicle through the gate. I found the truck parked in the SAWS driveway at the end of Brighton Oaks at 2539 Brighton Oaks. I reported the location to the guard.

I believe the guard had made attempts to contact other COP.

Rebecca and I covered the neighborhood 11-12 tonight 3-26 ... quite a few garage doors open but other than that pretty quite.

COP update

Good morning all: Please note the new vests (COP formal evening attire) is now available in the bold, new colors.....yellow and orange. You can find these at the guard post, hanging in the restroom area. Wow, what a fashion statement you will make in your choice of color. Please be sure to return these after use, as supplies are limited.

On a more serious note we've been patrolling the streets most evenings and haven't noticed much in the way of "happenings" at the town home area. Please be advised this remains a priority for our patrols as the investors have "secured" the area at least twice before and we can count on more break-ins and other issues in the future.

Next Friday evening Scott J and Ron N will be going on training runs and if you haven't been on one, please let me know so we can arrange. Lastly, please send your monthly report to my attention as soon as possible. This would include number of hours (dates, if you recall them) and any situations or observations you feel should be reported to the SAPD.

Best regards,

John Wynn

Patrol 2100 Hrs Sat

Covered the neighborhood. Very quiet. Lots of garage doors still open.

Mrs. Foster@14306 Mill Run

I spoke with Mr. and Mrs. Foster Sat/3-13 am, at their home, about her incident on a city street, last Thursday. She had called the guardhouse to report a driver menacing her and flashing a weapon at her. This was outside of SF, on NWMHy. Rather than call 911, she called the guard. I asked to please call 911 immediately, if this ever happens again, and not the guard. I also explained to both of them, that the guard would have been of little help to her, in this incident, because they cannot leave their post.

Test Post

Trying it out.

Need some communication

Good morning all COP members. Please communicate with me, letting me know you're able to access and use this blog.

Incident at Summerfield Town Homes

Good morning: Please be advised that yesterday afternoon, sometime between 4:00 and 5:00 PM the police were dispatched to the empty row of town homes facing the Summerfield guard post to answer a call regarding potential drug usage / sales in the area. This call went out due to the report a Summerfield parent had made to another neighbor in to check the empty town homes for his child, whom he believed to be in one of these after tracking the child with the GPS feature of her cellular phone. Upon arrival the neighbors concluded that significant evidence of drug usage warranted the call to the San Antonio Police Department. The police notified a representative of the new investors and he arrived on the scene as well. The good news is the representative of the investor group provided some details regarding why the complex remains in its current condition (the investor group is fighting the former owners to remove them completely from the situation, having purchased the note from the bank. Due to the legal proceedings regarding this, the investors can not sink additional money into the project until this is resolved) and his contact information (meaning we have a direct line to his office regarding security of the property)and the sending of a locksmith out to the property to help secure the doors and windows.

You will recall my mention of the second vacant town home from the right hand side as you're facing them. I had reported this one to the police about two weeks ago, stating that it appeared some sort of activity was occurring there. By way of this email I'm reminding all COP patrols to take special note of this area as we can be certain drug use and sales will continue.

Park Perimeter Security

John,

The HOA should ask the city to close the gate to the homestead to minimize the possibility of people walking through the homestead from the park and into the neighborhood. Closing this gate also cuts off a means of escape for someone who gets in some other way.

The other thought is to coordinate with the Park Police to see if they can increase their presence in the Salado Greenway during the late night hours of spring break week, or at least do a comprehensive sweep of the trails before they quite for the day. This request may best be made through NNOD, since it will also help the other 4 neighborhoods that abut the Salado Greenway.

Dick

Greetings to the Cellular On Patrol / Summerfield HOA Group

Thank you to all that joined us for the organizing meeting at the clubhouse. We'll use this blog to keep in touch, update one another on observations and COP "tours of duty". Also, please keep in mind this is a private blog open only to COP park watch members who attended the meeting. We'll be joining forces with Dick's park watch group to help keep the neighborhood and the parks around us as safe as possible. The other reason for a closed group is that we'll post addresses, vehicle plate numbers and observations we need to keep private. Our postings may contain information that may require some filtering prior to posting to the community at large.

Should you have questions or commments regarding this please reach contact me via 210-392-0223.

Thanks,

John Wynn
